What is Madico Blister-Free 200?
Madico Blister-Free 200 is a clear 2.5 mil polyester base film for uncoated polycarbonate and acrylic. Its silicone adhesive is designed to ride through moisture changes in the plastic. The visible film goes on over it.
Why do films blister on plastic glazing?
Madico explains that plastic takes in moisture when humidity is high and gives it up when the air is dry. Ordinary film adhesive reacts to that cycle and lifts. Blister-Free's adhesive is not affected by it.
Can other films go over Blister-Free 200?
Madico positions Blister-Free 200 under solar control and decorative films, and under safety film to add fragment retention. Whether a given top film suits a given plastic panel should be confirmed before work.
How does Blister-Free 200 handle cleaners and stains?
Madico's data sheet lists resistance to alcohol, aldehydes, hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents and diluted acids and alkalines. It also lists stain resistance to most food, chemical and medicinal agents. The materials meet RoHS and REACH.
